How To Be a Timer and Scorekeeper
The table crew is an essential component in making our kids' lacrosse games successful. Working the table is also a fantastic way to get an up close view of the game and all the sideline dynamics, and you often get to stay dry under a tent. There are up to 3 people at the table during home games and 2 for away games. For home games we provide a timer who keeps track of the game clock and the penalty clocks and then for both home an away games we need a spotter and scorekeeper who work together to keep track of the score and call out and record shots, saves, goals, assists, ground balls, etc. These jobs are not super hard and can be learned pretty quickly by volunteering alongside someone who has experience. The training videos and slides below give an overview of the duties, procedures and some of the judgement calls you will make.
